York Campos is a bilingual, Mexican American, New York-native, Licensed Master Social Worker. York obtained his Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Services in 2016. With over eight years of experience in Talk Therapy, Healthcare, Special Education and Care Management, he has a varied set of skills to address a wide range of mental health concerns.
York’s primary focus is working with young adults, providing support and guidance in both individual and group therapeutic settings. He understands the unique challenges faced by individuals from different cultural backgrounds and utilizes an eclectic, culturally informed therapeutic approach. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy, York tailors his treatment to meet the specific needs of each client.
Having personally experienced the impact of machismo beliefs and values within his Latinx culture, York is dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health in Latin America, particularly among men. His own journey inspired him to pursue a career in mental health and provide a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their thoughts, emotions, and relationships.
