Experience and Biography

Genise Acevedo is a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). She achieved a Military Social Work Education Fellowship and graduated with honors from The Touro Graduate School of Social Work in 2017. As a clinician Genise was inspired to develop her own unique approach into developing healthy therapeutic relationships with her patients. It is her belief that this is the first step in working towards building achievable long- and short-term goals with her patients.
As a bilingual clinician, Genise is passionate when working with first generation young adults in balancing cultural/familiar expectations, obstacles and challenges while embracing an integrative approach to support each individual. Genise works utilizing individual therapy, family therapy, parenting skills and psychoeducation to support her patients.

While telehealth service has become mainstream after the pandemic, Genise is experienced in telehealth for several years, utilizing various HIPAA compliant platforms to ensure sessions are confidential while allowing the patient to have control over how they can best utilize therapy. Her goal as a dedicated and passionate therapist is to empower, reach and develop her patients’ fullest potential.
